Krugerrands were the coin that started modern bullion, and they remain one of the easiest to value. Each holds its stated weight of pure gold — a full ounce or a 1/2, 1/4 or 1/10 fraction — inside a 22-karat copper-gold blend that gives the coin its warm colour and hard-wearing surface. We pay on the gold inside, priced to the live market.

Gold Krugerrands: common questions
Is a Krugerrand pure gold?
Not quite — it is 22-karat, mixing gold with a little copper for durability, but it still contains a full stated ounce (or fraction) of pure gold. We pay on that gold weight, so the copper does not reduce your offer.
Do the year or the mint matter on a Krugerrand?
For bullion coins, almost never — value follows the gold content. A few proof Krugerrands and certain graded pieces draw collector interest, and where a genuine premium exists we add it to the figure.
Do you buy fractional Krugerrands?
Yes, all four sizes — the full ounce plus the half, quarter and tenth. Each size is paid on its own gold weight — 90% of live spot — so a mix of sizes is counted and valued piece by piece.
