How we price your Mexican gold coins
Mexico has minted some of the most striking gold coins in the hemisphere, and they fall into a couple of groups. The modern Libertad is .999 fine bullion valued on its gold weight; the older Peso pieces — 2, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and the famous 50 Pesos Centenario — are 90% gold, and their gold content anchors the price, though certain dates carry collector appeal.
We prove each coin, weigh it, and price its gold to the live market so the figure is transparent. A 50 Pesos Centenario, for instance, holds well over an ounce of gold and is paid accordingly; scarcer dated Pesos and graded Libertads can bring a premium, which we recognise when collectors are paying for it. You are paid the same visit, with nothing mailed.
What to bring and what to expect
Bring your Mexican gold however you keep it — loose, in tubes, in flips, or in old bank sleeves — and include any certificates or graded holders. As with every purchase, you will be asked for current photo ID, as ever.

A 50 Pesos coin contains roughly 1.2 troy ounces of pure gold within its 90% alloy, which makes it one of the heaviest gold coins people commonly sell. We value that full gold content against the live price; as a recognized bullion-grade coin it is paid 90% of spot, and scarce dates can earn more.
Are Mexican Libertads pure gold?
The modern gold Libertad is .999 fine and valued on its gold weight against the current market. Fractional Libertads are bought too, each paid on its own gold content, plus any premium a scarcer or graded piece brings.
Do old Peso coins have collector value?
Some do. Every Peso is valued first on its 90% gold, but particular dates and well-preserved or graded examples can carry a numismatic premium that our buyer assesses individually.
